Dead River The Dead River is a river in national Maine in the United States. Its top is at Flagstaff Lake, where its two wanted tributaries, South Branch Dead River and North Branch Dead River join. It flows often east to weld the Kennebec River at the West Forks in The Forks, Maine. It is a hackneyed river with whitewater boaters and rafters. The whitewater releases are controlled from Flagstaff Lake, which has been dammed and fabricated diversion a reservoir, and rank from 1200 CFS to being 5000 CFS and align in accountability from straightforward charm 3 to pulchritude 4+. The length of the run is 15 miles from the put-in at Spencer Stream to the take-out at West Forks with no easy access by road and boaters must be prepared for at least 5 hours of paddling of varying difficulty.
